International Conference on Sustainable Development and Intelligent Integration of Refractories Held at Wuhan University of Science and Technology

WUST News (Zhou Xintong, Xiao Yuxuan, Li Zhouyang) On April 11, the International Conference on Sustainable Development and Intelligent Integration of Refractories opened at Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST), focusing on green and intelligent transformation of high-temperature industries.

Officials from Hubei Association for Science and Technology, Wuhan Bureau of Science and Technology and China Science and Technology Exchange Center, together with international experts, enterprise representatives and WUST leaders Ni Hongwei, Lyu Yong and Ma Teng attended the opening ceremony.

Sun Jixiang, Wu Yan and Lv Yong delivered speeches, stressing the importance of refractory technology in green and low-carbon development, international cooperation and industrial upgrading. WUST will strengthen innovation and industry-university-research collaboration to support global high-temperature industry development.

During the conference, the world’s first Digital-Intelligent Refractories Engineering Center was inaugurated. The world’s first refractory-specific large model "Zhurong · Refractory AI Large Model" was released. The State Key Laboratory of Advanced Refractories (Wuhan) signed key R&D projects with 9 leading enterprises.

International experts delivered keynote speeches and held panel discussions. A seminar on international cooperation and talent training was held in the afternoon.

The conference was co-hosted by WUST and Hubei Association for Science and Technology. The Refractories Innovation Alliance added 7 new council members at its second council meeting on April 10.
