National-provincial Joint Engineering Research Center of High Temperature Materials and Lining Technology is led by Wuhan University of Science and Technology, jointly with WISDRI Engineering&Research Incorporation Limited, China First Metallurgical Group Co., Ltd. and WISCO Refractory Material Co., Ltd.. It is a National Engineering Center approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in November 2016, based on the original Hubei Provincial Engineering Research Center for High Temperature Materials and Lining Technology. The center is the result transformation and industrialization base of the State Key Laboratory of Refractory Materials and Metallurgy and the related disciplines of industrial furnaces and kiln.
The center aims at country’s urgent need for energy saving and consumption reduction in high-temperature industries such as metallurgy, building materials, chemicals, electricity power and focuses on serving local economic construction in Hubei Province. The center mainly conduct the researches on the theory and methods of efficient and clean utilization for energy in industrial furnaces and kilns. It is committed to developing and popularizing key common technologies and new materials for energy saving and consumption reduction of thermal equipment, as well as integrated pilot, demonstration and engineering applications of systems, revising the testing rules and engineering design specifications for thermal equipment, training high-level personnel in new technologies for energy conservation and consumption reduction in thermal equipment, and providing related engineering technical advisory services.
The center has a total of 85 members, including 63 full-time R&D personnel. It has scientific and research equipment with a total value of 58.26 million yuan and a research site of 2380 square meters. The center undertakes a large number of national and provincial science and technology projects, and has mastered the cutting-edge core technologies in the field of energy conservation and consumption reduction in relevant industrial kilns and kilns. It has the ability to design chains from basic research to product development and industrialization, and has formed the characteristics of basic research, development of new products, and industrial production and application. The center is at the leading level in the domestic development of high temperature materials technology and engineering technology for new products.
