The 15th anniversary celebration of the cooperation between Elkem of Norway and WUST was held

On October 14th, the 15th anniversary celebration of the cooperation between Elkem of Norway and WUST was successfully held. Present at this celebration are Ms. Gro Eide, Vice President of Innovation of the Silicon Materials Research and Development Department of Elkem Norway, Mr. Danbin Wang, Dr. Hong Peng, Technical Expert of the Refractory Materials Division, and other relevant staff. Vice President Ma Teng of our university, Professor Li Yawei and Associate Professor Liao Ning from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, as well as ten students jointly cultivated by both sides in recent years, attended the celebration.

The celebration ceremony was presided over by Liao Ning, and Ma Teng delivered the opening speech. He reviewed the glorious journey of cooperation between the two sides since 1999, summarized the achievements made over the past fifteen years, and expressed the vision of further expanding cooperation in the future.

Ms. Gro Eide delivered a speech on behalf of Elkem, stating that over the past fifteen years, both sides have achieved fruitful results in scientific and technological cooperation, technical services, talent cultivation and other aspects. He said that he was very willing to carry out more cooperation with our school and write a glorious chapter in the next fifteen years. Mr. Danbin Wang and Dr. Hong Peng made speeches respectively.

Professor Li Yawei said that he hoped through this celebration event, both sides could further create a new model of school-enterprise integration and jointly create a new situation of mutual benefit and win-win, collaborative and innovative development ‌.

At the exchange meeting, student representatives Bo Ren, Haibing Fan, Fei Zhou, Sisi Zhang and others made speeches. They shared their wonderful time of studying in Norway and sincerely thanked Elkem and our school for the joint training program, which provided them with valuable learning opportunities.

At the end of the celebration, Ma Teng presented the 15th anniversary commemorative plaques to Li Yawei, the representative of our school, and Ms. Gro Eide, the representative of Elkem of Norway. Professor Li Yawei, Ms. Gro Eide, Mr. Danbin Wang and Dr. Hong Peng presented the commemorative plaques to the ten jointly trained students respectively.
