On the morning of December 10th, Kirill Andreev, Chief Scientist of Vesuvius Advanced Ceramics LTD., was invited to give a presentation titled "Latest developments in non-destructive testing of refractories -" in room 6306, teaching Building 6, qingshan campus The academic report on "promises and challenges" was hosted by Professor Jin Shengli from the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and relevant teachers and students attended.
In recent years, with the increasing performance requirements for refractory materials in high-temperature industries, the demand for understanding the conversion and failure processes during use has also been continuously rising. In this regard, non-destructive testing (NDT) has received attention in both laboratory tests and on-site evaluations. This report presents application cases of non-destructive testing, discusses the application prospects of related technologies such as laser vibration measurement, acoustic emission, and 3D digital imaging, and provides application cases of these technologies in monitoring mechanical and thermal damage, fracture behavior, and phase transformation.
After the meeting, Kirill Andreev held a discussion and exchange with the relevant teachers of the center, conducted in-depth discussions on the direction and projects of school-enterprise cooperation, and reached a cooperation intention.
