Professor Ritwik Sarkar of the National Institute of Technology of India was invited to visit our school

On May 23, 2019, Professor Ritwik Sarkar, director of the Department of Ceramic Engineering at the National Institute of Technology of India, was invited to visit our school and participate in the 11th International Advanced Ceramics Annual Meeting. Prof. Ritwik Sarkar is a life member of the Indian Ceramic Society. He has worked in FGL Refractories, ACC Refractories, H&R Johnson (I), the Central Glass Ceramics Institute of India, and the Aachen University of Germany. He has published a refractory monograph, more than 150 academic papers and more than 10 related orginized patents

During the visit, Prof. Ritwik Sarkar made two reports titiled "Refractory erosion process, test methods and measures to improve erosion" and "Nanotechnology and refractory castables". After the academic report, they exchanged and discussed the areas that may be specifically cooperated, such as recommending Indian students to study for doctoral and post-doctoral work in WUST, or jointly guiding students, applying for international cooperation projects, and hosting bilateral academic activities. Prof. Ritwik Sarkar also visited The State Key Laboratory of Refractories and Metallurgy and the National-provincial Joint Engineering Research Center of High Temperature Materials and Lining Technology, and gave high appreciation to our scientific research strength and scientific and technological achievements.
