The 11th International Symposium on Advanced Ceramics

From May 26 to 29, the 11th International Symposium on Advanced Ceramics(CICC-11) was held in Kunming, China. For the first time, the seminar listed advanced refractory topics as a venue which was organized by Wuhan University of Science and Technology and relevant universities and enterprises.

At this session, there were 1,450 representatives from 33 countries and regions, and more than 1,200 high-level academic papers were received from the industry.

The advanced refractory venue invited more than 100 representatives of universities and enterprises engaged in refractory education and research and product development from Austria, France, Norway, South Korea, India, and China, and arranged 47 academic reports.

The experts who attended the venue and made special reports were: MR. C. Parr, president of the International Union of Refractory Education and Research, Prof. S. L. Jin from University of Lille, Austria, Prof. In-Ho Jung from Seoul National University, Korea, Prof. R. Sarkar from National Institute of Technology, India, H. Peng, the Chief Scientist fron Aiken Silicon Materials, Norway, Prof. Hou Xinmei from University of Science and Technology Beijing, Prof. Yin Hongfeng from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, Prof. Li Yawei, Prof. Zhang Haijun, Prof. Huang Ao, Prof. Yan Wen, and Prof. Yuan Wenjie from Wuhan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Huang Juntong form Nanchang Aviation University, Dr. Yu Renhong and Bi Yubao from Henan University of Science and Technology.

Prof. Li Yawei and Prof. Huang Ao of our school respectively made excellent reports of "the growth mechanism of SiC whiskers and their application in refractories" and "the dynamic erosion mechanism of aluminum magnesium refractories in molten steel".

The Advanced International Ceramic Symposium is one of the series of international academic conferences jointly sponsored by the China Silicic Acid Society and Tsinghua University. Since its first session in 1998, it has developed into a global material industry, especially in the ceramic field. The summit forum with great academic status and influence.
